Senior Friendly Ways to Get Around Penticton

Are you looking for a ride program for your senior family members in Penticton? Efforts have been made across all of British Columbia to provide seniors with affordable, accessible, and convenient transportation programs. Many of these programs are organized by government agencies and some by local not-for-profit groups.


Below is a list of ride programs available in the South Okanagan area.


The South Okanagan Seniors Wellness Society, among many other wonderful programs, has options and information for ride share and transportation for seniors in the South Okanagan area.


The Better at Home program, a partnership between Penticton and District Community Resources Society, services all seniors in the area of Penticton, Summerland, Naramata, Kaleden, and OK Falls. Services are delivered by a combination of volunteers, paid staff, and contractors depending on the service required, including transportation options. Volunteer drivers offer transport to and from appointments, and social or recreational activities when available. Advance notice is require for this service.


The South Okanagan offers a Seniors Bus Pass program for lowered prices per ticket, or on a monthly pass. For details see the Penticton City Hall.


Helping Hand Seniors Services provide seniors and those with special needs with accompanied transportations for a reasonable fee.


For longer trips, Greyhound Canada offers seniors discounts for age 62 and older.
